About UsEstablished in 2006, we are a self funding and not for profit community and Grade 3A competition Police pipe band and comprise 30 + members. Our membership consists of both police officers and police staff as well as civilian musicians. All give up their own time to attend practises and events. The pipe band was officially unveiled on the 29th of August 2006, when the then Chief Constable Andrew Cameron and Central Scotland Joint Police Board Convener Councillor Pat McCafferty inspected the musicians for the first time.The Pipes and Drums of Central Scotland Police wear the distinctive blue and grey Loch Lomond Millennium Tartan, reflecting the fact that one of the most famous areas of natural beauty in the world lies within the force boundaries.World and British Champions and Champion of Champions Grade 3B 2008

CLOSE TO 10,000 RAISED ON THE DAY FOR ARMED SERVICES CHARITIES26th June 2011Our pipers and drummers turned out in force to show support for our Armed Services men and women. Along with a host of other Pipe Bands we marched from Edinburgh Castle down the Royal Mile to The Palace of Holyrood House.Alistair Ferguson - Leading Drummer. "This was a fantastic event to be involved with and a great cause to support. It's not everyday you can march down The Royal Mile with 300+ pipers and drummers"

WHAT A RESULT !The pipe band walked away with 1st Grade 3(1st Piping and 1st Drumming)2nd Grade 2(2nd Piping and 2nd Drumming)at Helensburgh on Sunday 19th July.A fantastic result all round for the band whith hopefully more in the pipeline.Dorian Gray Band Secretary" the results speak for themselves and are testament to the leadership and direction of PM Robert Russell and Leading Drummer Alistair Ferguson"

1st Piping -Gourock First competion of the season and the band walked away with two 1st for Piping, 2nd for drumming and ensemble at Gourock Highland Games on Sunday 8th May.After a rainy start to the day, crowds flocked to Gourock Park for Gourock Highland Games 2011. By early afternoon the weather cleared and visitors from home and abroad enjoyed a fun packed day, with a wide programme of entertainment for all the family.Claire Darroch-Thompson travelled from the South East of England with her husband and family to preside as chieftain over the 55th Gourock Highland Games. Inverclydes Provost, Michael McCormick introduced Claire, whose ancestors originally owned the land that is now Gourock Park, and gifted it to the Burgh of Gourock. The youngest Piper in the band, Graeme Hogg piped for a delegation of German teenagers at an event held in Edinburgh last week. Annabel Oates the organiser of the event commented"his playing was first class, as was his choice of tunes. He was immaculately turned out in your band outfit and was an excellent ambassador for your band"

Gordons abseil On 8th May, Gordon Todd one of the Pipers in the band abseiled down the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, raising funds for Scottish Autism. With his feet firmly back on the ground Gordon would like to thank everyone who supported the event.You can still support Gordon herehttp://www.justgiving.com/gordontoddThe huge cantilever sections of the rail bridge spanning The Forth are one of the most familiar landmarks of Scotland. Completed in 1890, the Forth Rail Bridge was constructed from 54,000 tonnes of steel, 194,000 tonnes of stone and concrete, and in excess of 21,000 tonnes of cement. This was the largest steel bridge in the world, using approximately 7,500,000 rivets produced by The Clyde Rivet Company. Success was not without its casualties and, throughout the course of construction, 57 men lost their lives.
